We are thrilled to announce the two selected projects for 2025: "CYBOTAGE" and "Reservoirs for Water Futures."

Announcing the 2025 Touch Aesthetics Fellows

We are proud to announce the fellows Olivia Ting, Antonella Mazzoni, and Selwa Sweidan + Vanessa Cruz to  the Touch Aesthetics Fellowship, a partnership between Arizona State University’s Narrative & Emerging Media Program and Leonardo CripTech Incubator! Based at the Haptics for Inclusion lab at the ASU California Center Broadway in Los Angeles, this 3-month fellowship is dedicated to the research and creative exploration of the intersections between haptics and disability.

A Fond Farewell from Shamsher Virk

 

Shamsher Virk, formerly ZERO1’s Executive Director and current Senior Director for Programs & Operations at Leonardo, is stepping down. Having successfully overseen ZERO1’s integration into Leonardo, he closes a dynamic chapter for ZERO1. Virk reflects on his time leading ZERO1 and then joining the Leonardo leadership team.

Remembering Dick Land (1932–2024) by Pierre J. Pernuit

Longtime friend of and collaborator with Leonardo Richard I. Land (b. 1932) passed away at Harvard, on 12 October 2024. A scientist, computer art pioneer, and media artist, Dick was initially trained in physics and began his career in the late 1950s working with plasma, while simultaneously pursuing an amateur career in theater acting, theater lighting, and the visual arts.

Leonardo/ISAST Integrates ZERO1 in a merger with the art and technology nonprofit organization

To further solidify its leadership at the intersection of art, science, and technology, Leonardo: the International Society for Arts, Sciences, and Technology (Leonardo/ISAST), is excited to announce the full integration of ZERO1: The Art & Technology Network (ZERO1) into its organization. Building on the successful strategic partnership established in 2022, Leonardo’s integration of ZERO1 reflects both organizations' shared commitment to apply creativity to the complex challenges we face today.
