Equity Statement
Leonardo/ISAST engages interdisciplinary networks and practitioners of art, science, and technology in service of building a better, more creative and more just world. As an international, not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization headquartered in the United States, Leonardo supports artists, scientists and other colleagues of color and global communities of practice. We recognize that our success as a global network rests upon the well-being of every member of our community.
Mindful that the fields of art, science and technology have historically excluded underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, Leonardo opposes systems of oppression that perpetuate discrimination and inequality. Through our organizational leadership, community partnerships, programming, accessibility, and outreach, we endeavour to address, serve, and uplift marginalized individuals and communities. Grounding our initiatives in lessons learned from recentering intersectional perspectives, we value and invite underrepresented voices in our talks, salons, residencies, community partnerships, and publication platforms. Leonardo desires that our work contributes to action that will secure equality, equity, inclusion, justice and dignity for all.
