Culture² is Calling for Journal Proposal from Researchers
We welcome submissions from all stages of research and documentation within academia, community, and industry. Our goal in this platform is to highlight the work of researchers that are democratizing the practice of science or pursuing non-traditional and interdisciplinary research.
International applicants welcome.
Submissions might include topics such as (but are also not limited to) environmental studies, food science, food systems, ancestral tool making, criticisms on the current landscape/ history of science and technology, biomaterials research, field research, short sci fi, open science hardware documentation, horticulture/ home gardening research and documentation of bio art + design projects.
Submission Tracks
Scientific Article Contribution:
This track is for submissions incorporating a scientific methodology in part of your research practice. For this track we are accepting the documentation of research that has been conducted within a laboratory, or through crowdsourcing. Recommendations for submission lengths should be about 5-10 pages (2500-5000 words) but no length restrictions. We encourage that submissions also include supplemental visual media such as photographs and visual data analysis. We are also open to accepting and publishing drafts. References and attributions must be used. If you submit a collaboration or team project, briefly describe your contribution. Honorarium $400 CAD.
General Article Contribution:
For written submissions where a scientific methodology is not used, the general article track is available for researchers interested in publishing their explorations in research. Recommendations for submission lengths should be about 5-10 pages (2500-5000 words) but no length restrictions. General article contributions do not have scientific methodologies in part of their research but focus more on research or project documentation. We are also open to accepting and publishing drafts. References and attributions must be used. If you submit a collaboration or team project, briefly describe your contribution. Honorarium $350 CAD.
Media Submissions
We accept photographs, drawings, documentaries (up to 10 min in length) and audio recordings (up to 5 min in length) for our media submission track. Along your submission, you must provide a 500 word description which demonstrates the introduction of the project and your research process. If you submit a collaboration or team project, briefly describe your contribution. References and attribution must be used depending on the content of the submission. Honorarium $150 CAD.
