David A. James has recently directed the installation of more than 100 pieces of art at the University of Michigan---Dearborn, including several large original works by local artists and a 1,500-piece nonperiodic Penrose mosaic fabricated by Pewabic Pottery of Detroit. He is a professor of mathematics and former chair of the Michigan Section of the Mathematical Association of America.
