I'm a surgeon who retired early because of neck arthritis. My education began with the study of ecology, and then I did graduate work in biophysics and neuroscience before going to medical school. Beyond my formal education, I've learned a lot from a lifelong experience of mystical consciousness that grew out of severe early childhood adversity. I combine my love of biology with my spiritual inclinations and trauma awareness in a project I call Mindful Biology. It is a  path of human renewal and return to innate values. It works by interweaving embodiment, biology, and Life in Earth.
