Lisa Moren works with emerging media, bio-matter, public space and ephemera. Her recent cross-species artworks are collaborations with marine biologist where the public communicates with bioluminescent microbes; and “Under the Bay”, an AR, data-driven narratives streamed from sensors in the Chesapeake Bay.
Lisa Moren has exhibited her work at the Chelsea Art Museum, Creative Time, Drawing Center, Cranbrook Art Museum, uShaka Museum, Ars Electronica, Akademie der Kunste, and others. She received an NEA, a Fulbright Scholarship; Deutsch Foundation award and the Maryland State Arts Council, CEC Artslink International; the Saul Zaentz Innovation Fellowship at JHU. She is a Professor of Intermedia Art at UMBC.
