Alcide Breaux is an interdisciplinary artist and bioethicist from New Orleans, LA working in sculpture, performance, genetic research and molecular autonomy. They create work reflecting on inhabiting a medicalized body and negotiating systems of power. Breaux has been nominated for and awarded artist residences by the Joan Mitchell Foundation, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and Franconia Sculpture Park. They received their undergraduate degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Breaux has exhibited at Sullivan Galleries in Chicago, IL, NAVEL Gallery in Los Angeles, CA, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA, Carroll Gallery at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, and the CICA Museum in Gimpo, South Korea.
