Alexis Crawshaw
Doctoral Researcherat Université Paris 8Alexis Story Crawshaw (b.1986) is a composer, researcher, and educator in new media art. Her work explores transdisciplinary, holosensory, and spatiotemporal expression, as well as universal principles of formal design. Transdisciplinary pedagogy is a key research area. With a background in music composition, she holds a doctorate from the Media Arts and Technology Program at UC Santa Barbara with a Cognitive Science Emphasis. She is also a doctoral researcher in the Ecole Doctorale “Esthétique, Sciences et Technologies des Arts” at the Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis. As an artist, she has worked on a variety of projects in both France and the United States, including site-specific installations for the Fridman Gallery in New York; the Santa Barbara Center for Art, Science, and Technology; and the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Paris Nord.
