Majella Clarke works at the intersection of art, science and technology with a background in science and a foreground in music and sonic arts. As a scientist, she has worked on climate change for forest monitoring, GHG modelling, game theory, green growth and AI. As a conductor and musician, her practice focuses on both experimental conducting with technology, as well as traditional conducting of classical music and contemporary ensembles. In 2020, she co-founded Helsinki Art Ensemble (HAE!) for creating multisensorial immersive experiences using new media and exploring new performance formats, and directs the Korvat Auki Ensemble as part of a society for contemporary music in Finland. Her current artistic research focuses on using technology to expand the practice of conducting and ensemble sonics.
