Abstract: The main interest of this dissertation is the connection of Systems Thinking and Music. First, I present Systems Thinking in a historical context and I expose some fundamental systemic concepts. Then, I make the connection between the Theory and Music. I discuss the approach of Iannis Xenakis towards the unification of Music and Science. In addition, I demonstrate Xenakis’s ‘Hypothesis of Second Order Sonorities’. Later, I refer to Agostino Di Scipio’s problematic on Xenakis’ hypothesis and I introduce his ‘Theory of Sonological Emergence’ and his ‘Audible Eco-Systemic Interface’. Finally, I present a model based on the abstraction of the interactive music model, and I expose his structure and its function.
