Dr Lawrence Wallen practice operates across a range of modes employing spatial strategies, technologies and performative readings, resulting in an extensive collection of Spaces, Books, Drawings, Performances and Architectures. Recent publications include The Model as Performance: Staging Space in Theatre and Architecture, Bloomsbury (2018) and Model & Fragment - on the performance of incomplete architectures, Architectural Design - AD (2021) (both co-authored with Thea Brejzek). His article on the reconstruction of landscape in Leonardo Journal (2020) traces the origins of his installation practice and its historical influences. Recent exhibitions, fellowships and residencies in Germany, Lithuania, France, Cyprus, Egypt and Italy, operate in dialogue and underpin his academic writing. Lawrence is a Professor in the Architecture Department at UTS Sydney. He was previously a Professor of Scenography at the Zurich University of the Arts,  currently, he is working on a book entitled The Performance of the Architectural Fragment on the Postdramatic Stage.
