About the Images 关于图片

For this issue, we examined how language, cultural context, and AI training data shape the ways machine-learning systems visualize ideas. We began by feeding each article’s abstract—in both English and Simplified Chinese—into DeepSeek, generating two distinct image prompts for each version. We then passed these paired prompts to Midjourney, creating a set of visual outputs that reflect how the same underlying concept can diverge across languages and cultural framings.

When presented side-by-side, these images and prompts reveal sometimes subtle and sometimes striking differences in how AI models interpret identical concepts depending on linguistic and cultural input.
