Part-time Bookkeeper and Office Manager

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper & Office Manager to oversee financial record-keeping, office administration, HR and operational responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and general office management, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in a non-profit environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Bookkeeping & Financial Management

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Process invoices, payments, and payroll.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure financial data integrity.
  • Prepare financial reports, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Coordinate with external accountants for tax preparation and financial reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and best practices.

Office Management & Operations

  • Oversee office administration, supplies, and vendor management.
  • Maintain organized records and filing systems (digital and physical).
  • Coordinate office logistics, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.
  • Implement and optimize operational processes for efficiency.
  • Assist in policy and procedure development to streamline office operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.

Human Resources (HR) Support

  • Assist with onboarding new employees, including paperwork and orientation.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies.
  • Support payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Address basic employee inquiries regarding HR procedures and policies.
  • Help facilitate performance review processes and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Special projects

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience as a bookkeeper, office manager, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, etc.), Quickbooks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of financial principles, compliance, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

HIGHLY PREFERRED

  • Experience in the non-profit sector.
  • Familiarity with Rippling for payroll and HR management.
  • Background in process improvement and operational efficiency.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Part-time position, compensation range commensurate with experience
  • 50% contribution to health and 75% contribution to dental group insurance plan
  • 10 days vacation, 10 days sick leave, and 15 paid holidays annually
