Biodesign Challenge and the Google Hardware Design Studio are partnering on an month-long design Sprint to explore better ways to reduce carbon, increase biodiversity, and bring positive change to both people and the environment.

We invite students, professionals, hobbyists, and enthusiasts from across the globe to envision and create products that function in symbiotic harmony with the environment. Participants will compete for cash prizes and potential opportunities to collaborate with the Google Hardware Design Studio.

Throughout the month, we offer guidance, networking, and programming for participants. The Semifinal event where all teams present to a panel of Google and BDC experts is on November 3. The Top Eight Finalist presentations will be broadcast live at the Biodesign Sprint Finals on November 4. All events will be held online.

For this month-long innovation challenge, we're looking for projects that reimagine how biotechnology could be used in consumer electronics to create a more sustainable future.

To participate in the Biodesign Sprint (October 7 - November 4), please complete the following application. You do not need a fully-formed project to apply to participate. Each team may have 1-6 people. Application deadline: September 29, 11:59pm ET.

You will be notified via email of acceptance on or before Friday, October 1. Once accepted, individual team members must sign the Participation Agreement and pay the registration fee. Only registered invitees can attend the Kickoff Orientation (October 7) and participate in the Semifinals (November 3).
