Chris Meigh-Andrews is Reader in Electronic & Digital Art at the University of Central Lancashire, and director of the Electronic and Digital Art Unit (EDAU). He has an MA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths and completed a practice-based PhD at the Royal College of Art in 2001. A practicing artist specialising in electronic and digital media, he has been exhibiting his videotapes and installations internationally since 1978. Since 1990, Meigh-Andrews has specialised in sculptural and site-specific installations and video projections and recent work has often featured the harnessing of renewable energy systems. He was Arts Council of England International Artist Fellow in Krakow 2003/04, and the recipient of a research award from the National Endowment of Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) in 2004, and he received British Council Travel Awards to Poland and Malta in 2005. His book, Video Art: A History of Technology and Form was published by Berg in October, 2006.
