I am the founder of RNASA-IMEDIR multidisciplinary group at University of A Coruña (UDC) from 1991, currently we are 30 members (25 Ph.D.) focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) grounded in biological processes like Artificial Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms, etc. applied to the art, biomedical field, etc.

I have a degree in Medicine and general surgery from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela; Ms in Knowledge Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid; PhD in Medicine from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid; and PhD in Computer Science from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Since 1999, I am Full Professor in the area of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of UDC.
