Cat Jones is an artist, writer, researcher thinking across biological, social and metaphysical realms.
She creates live, immersive, socially engaged, site specific, audio-visual, edible and olfactory artworks. Her associated research has lead to co-authored publications in neuroscience, health and medicine.
Her work is presented internationally including Australia, UK, USA, Germany and Czech Republic. She has received major commissions from Sydney Festival, Vitalstatistix, The WIRED Lab, Proximity Festival.
Cat is a pvi collective creative comrade, alumni of SymbioticA and ANAT Synapse residencies, affiliate artist researcher of Sansom Institute, Body in Mind, University of South Australia and a Creative Industries Resident at Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, Powerhouse NSW.
Previously Cat was Artistic Director / CEO of PACT centre for emerging artists and Co-Director then inaugural Chairperson for Electrofringe international festival of electronic arts and culture.
Her accolades include a Creative Australia Fellowship, the Sadakichi Award Art and Olfaction Award, a Create NSW Performing Arts and Music Fellowship, and The Australia Council Award for Emerging and Experimental Arts.
