Noel Caspar Haufs is an interdisciplinary social scientist researching art-design innovations, indigenous knowledge and smart farming. Noel is a PhD candidate who conducts an ethnographic research project on smart farming in the Netherlands. This research project is embedded in the Science, Technology and Society Department of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Maastricht University. There, he graduated from the MScRes "Cultures of Arts, Science, and Technology" and the BA "Arts and Culture". Noel has been a research fellow at the Okavango Research Institute of the University of Botswana, where he contributed to research on indigenous knowledge systems. His MScRes thesis studied the interactions between policy making and art-design prototypes for nature-inclusive public lighting in the context of Amsterdam.
