I’m Yati Sharma, an Indian artist and researcher working with invisible sensory mediums, primarily smell and sound to tell stories, evoke memory, and create immersive experiences. My practice explores how sensory perception can become a tool for emotional connection, cultural integration, and spiritual reflection. During my MFA at the Royal College of Art, London, I focused on developing olfaction as a mode of communication, using participatory research, installation art, and workshops to explore how scent shapes memory and identity. Smell is the strongest sense of humans when it comes to nostalgia and memory recollection.
I hold a Master’s in Communication from Royal College of Art, London and a Bachelor’s in Design from Delhi Technological University. My work has been exhibited and supported by institutions such as BBC Television Centre (London), International Symposium of Electronic Arts 2025, National Gallery of Modern Art (New Delhi), and through projects like the Hyundai Art for Hope Grant and a public art commission by the UK Government. I continue to research and create in the evolving space between technology, sensory experience, and cultural storytelling, inviting audiences to sense, feel, and remember.
