So Young Song is an interdisciplinary artist and designer dedicated to raising public awareness of environmental problems caused by overconsumption. Her interest in consumption began with “My Consuming Diary,” recognized as the Outstanding Degree Project Award in 2011 from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she earned a BFA degree in graphic design. With eight years of experience working in the commercial industry specializing in branding and advertising, she has honed her skills in delivering messages to the public with clear communication and rational thinking. She holds an MFA in Electronic and Time-Based Arts from Purdue University. Her artistic practice focuses on creating speculative narratives through the use of diverse media such as sculpture, video art, 3D animation, graphic design, AR, and interactive art. In 2025, she was recognized by Communication Arts magazine as one of the most promising students worldwide. Her work has also been exhibited internationally across the U.S., Germany, and South Korea.
