Lauren Ruiz

I am a research-based multimedia artist whose work addresses the role of ethics, labor, and scientific authority amidst ecological crises through speculative fiction-based installations, digital video, and interactive performance. My work has been exhibited at the Latvian National Museum of Art, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and the Museum of the Southwest. I have presented my research projects at UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, the College Art Association Conference, and the Association for Art History Conference. I have completed residencies at the Santa Fe Art Institute, the Museum of the Southwest, and the Guerrilla Science ArtSci Residency. I received my MFA from Stony Brook University. I am currently Director of Research and Operations at artist Stephanie Dinkins’s emerging media lab, Future Histories Studio, located at Stony Brook University. I am represented by Marquee Projects in Bellport, NY.
