Sue Huang

Sue Huang is a new media artist whose work addresses collective experience. Her research explores ecological intimacies, human/nonhuman relations, and speculative futures. She was named the 2025–2026 Rutgers–New Brunswick Laureate for her project Bodies of Flora, which explores botanical loss in New Jersey’s regional ecologies. Huang has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at MOCA, Los Angeles; Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati; Philadelphia Contemporary; ISEA, Montreal; and Ars Electronica, Linz, among others. She has been an artist-in-residence at Leonardo@Djerassi, Woodside; LMCC, New York; NEW INC, New York; and the Studios at MASS MoCA, North Adams. She earned her MFA in Media Arts from UCLA and a BS in Science, Technology, and International Affairs from Georgetown University. She is an assistant professor of Art & Design at Rutgers University–New Brunswick’s Mason Gross School of the Arts.
