In brief
I have participated in exhibitions and projects in the Americas and Europe.
My artworks have been shown in Sao Paulo, Madrid, Lisbon, Cambridge, Paris, Marseille, Venice, and Online venues and platforms headquartered in Brisbane, Australia; Los Angeles and New York, United States.
I feel as comfortable in large international exhibitions such as the Sao Paulo Biennial (2004), the Lisbon Architecture Triennale (2013), or the Venice Biennale (2023) as in artist-led projects.
My work has been supported by artist residencies, and I have received grants from 'Culture' programs funded by the European Commission or global ones like 'IAESTE'.
Additionally, I am a first-stage researcher or PhD candidate in Fine Arts addressing water, ocean, and climate change concerns.
I started in 2010 to explore natural materials with low impact, such as straw bales, earth, timber, water, bamboo, and canes. After this period, I initiated in 2021 a new cycle about water (substance), climate change, and Earth observation + observation from Earth.
My ongoing artistic research is about "Water and art practice in times of climate change and planetary boundaries", which derives from my body of work. These research-creation and site-specific projects and artworks in progress are for the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean basins.
I am multilingual and communicate in English and Spanish. I also learned some Portuguese while working in Brazil and Portugal.
