Andrei KISS is a licensed architect and lecturer at the Department of Urban Planning and Technical Sciences, Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning - Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. 
He received his doctorate in architecture with a thesis on digital design entitled The Digital Interface between Nature and Architecture - iDNA. A parametric-sensorial approach in informing architectural design with real world data. 
His research interests are in the area of emerging digital design and fabrication techniques and technologies: Interactive Systems in  Architecture, Computational Design, Parametric Design and Digital    Fabrication. He is responsible for the Computational Design and Digital Fabrication Research Group at FAU-UTCN. 
He has been teaching Parametric Design and Digital Fabrication courses and laboratories at FAU-UTCN with a focus on energy material interaction. He is a member of the 4th year Design Studio where sustainability is embedded in the design principles of the studio’s work, from relevant material systems to fabrication techniques and technologies. 
He is a teaching advisor for final license and diploma projects. 
His academic work is informed by his architectural practice at Horvath+Kiss. He is a registered practicing architect in the Romanian Order of Architects OAR, member of the Smart Geometry Group international network and the Rhino Teachers Network.
