Shivani Mathur
Graduateat UALShivani Mathur learnt at a young age that if a woman wants to shatter the glass ceiling she has to shatter glass. She became increasingly interested in social justice, unpredictable human behaviour, equality and the status of minority. Her work explores the logic behind how barely perceptible cracks and gaps in us, in our relationships and our surroundings, take on momentum to create seismic change. Shivani currently works with wasted and discarded glass, mirror, eggshells often combining technology and algorithms to make her work interactive. Shivani’s work has been exhibited since 2008, both in the UK and internationally in venues such as Bonhams, Covent Garden, Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, at Bozar in Brussels and private exhibitions in Seattle and in India.
