Sudhir Ranjan Jain is a theoretical physicist, working on physics and mathematics of complex systems. The research work has involved developing an understanding of nonlinearity in the classical and quantum contexts, extending to quantum computation and technology. A graduate in Hindustani Classical music (vocal), he is deeply interested in creativity, interplay of arts and sciences, performance, and dissemination. An author of four books and nearly one hundred and fifty papers, he has lectured for more than thirty years in addition to practicing music for more than twenty years with his musician wife, Alka.
