Dr. Haein Kang
Haein Kang, a Seoul-born Seattle-living artist, works at the intersection of art and science. Kang began her artistic career in 2002 by winning Construct2, an installation art competition hosted by San Francisco Arts Commission. She held several solo exhibitions at various venues, including the SOMA Museum of Art, and received numerous awards and grants, including Honorary Mention from Prix Ars Electronica.
Kang received her Ph.D. from the University of Washington for her work on the artistic use of brain-computer interfaces. The research has been widely shared at international conferences, such as ICMC-NYCEMF, IEEE-GEM, SIGGRAPH-Asia, ISEA, and CODAME ART+TECH.
