Christine Veras is an animation scholar and experimental animator, originally from Brazil. In her theoretical and practical research she investigates the dichotomy and connections between past and present, old and new, aiming to understand and create moments of astonishment and wonder through which traditional histories can be revisited and questioned. Among her works Christine has invented a new animated device called the Silhouette Zoetrope, which is part of the permanent collection of two museums in Germany: The Children’s Museum in Dresden, and the Lingelbach Barn in Leinroden.
