André Mestre is a Brazilian sound artist and composer based in Chile. His works deal with themes of para-instrumentality and are generally conceived for new or augmented interfaces and immersive installation environments. He has pursued his studies in music and music technology in Brazil, Canada, and the United States. Currently, he works as Assistant Professor in the Acoustics Institute at Universidad Austral de Chile, where he is also serves as an Associate Researcher with the Laboratorio de Arte y Tecnología (LATE). Since 2015 he has been affiliated to Arts Connect International, a Boston-based non-profit organization that builds equity and inclusion in and through the arts.
