Researcher, curator and professor especialized in media arts, photography and visual studies, based on Valparaiso, Chile.
PhD by University of Barcelona. Currently is professor in the Master of Media Arts at the Universidad de Chile; Master in Research and Creation of the Image at the Universidad Finis Terrae. She is also director of PAM / Plataforma Arte y Medios and postdoctoral researcher Anid / Fondecyt.
Montero has worked for the National Fine Arts, Biennial of Media Arts from Santiago, Contemporary Art Museum of Santiago de Chile; MECAD -Media Center d Art and Disenny-, Caixa Forum Media Library, Loop, DrapArt, in Barcelona; Lumen (Punta Arenas), CINUSP (Sao Paulo), Montevideo Photography Center, among others. As a teacher, she has given courses and workshops in Spain, Brazil, Ecuador, Uruguay and Chile, and for Node Center of Curatorial Studies (online space based in Berlin).
In 2013 she published the book “By reason or by force” (Editorial Errant Bodies, Berlin). Furthermore, he has published articles in specialized magazines (Artnodes, Leonardo Journal, Aisthesis) and books such as Cinemas Transversais (Sao Paulo) and Red Art: New Utopias in Data Capitalism (Leonardo Almanac, London), Bridges & Borders (Zurich), among others .
