Contemporary developments in the biomedical sciences and their impact our understanding of human corporeality have formed a central focus of Trish’s art/science research practice. In particular, collaborative research and artistic outcomes in the areas of stem cell regeneration and cross-species intersections.
Trish personalised the scientific laboratory processes through her first-person methodology when, in what was arguably a first for an artist, she took unscreened adult stem cells from her blood for use as experimental source material. Observations of cellular sentience has led to research into the cognitive abilities of the honey bee, and, most recently, the senses revealed by organoids.
