I hold a Master degree in Information Design and a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy Education from the University of British Columbia. As an independent academic researcher, I am into design, media and digital humanities. My research interests include visual literacy, semiotics and rhetoric; visualization, typography, typometry and editorial design, among others. I am a faculty member at the Master of Educational Technology at UBC, where I teach about the history and evolution of the concepts of text and technology.
