Toni Sant is the Director of the Digital Curation Lab at MediaCityUK with the University of Salford. Since 2014 he is also the Artistic Director of Spazju Kreattiv, Malta's National Center for Creativity in Valletta. Working extensively as a broadcast in ther 1980s and 1990s, he directed his attention to live art on the Internet by the mid 1990s while completing his PhD in Performance Studies at New York University. His writings appear in various scholarly publications, including Leonardo, TDR, and the International Journal of Performance Arts and Digital Media, of which he is an associate editor. His books include Franklin Furnace and the Spirt of the Avant-Garde: A History of the Future (University of Chicago Press, 2011), Remembering Rediffusion in Malta: A History Without Future? (Midsea Books, 2016), and Documenting Performance: The Context and Processes of Digital Curation and Archiving (Bloomsbury, 2017). He is also very active in projects involving mediatied memories, intangible cultural heritage, and open knowledge.
