Abstract: Bhuvan is the Indian Space Research Organisation’s web mapping service to represent and visualise India’s map-based content prepared in 2D and 3D. Bhuvan is the best facility developed by government source for authentic information therefore it is highly trusted medium. The Bhuvan has vast verity and precise information systems and applications which can be used for research, studies, policy making strategies by government and by the common people. It provides lots of related data on India e.g. disaster support, water, agriculture, ground water resources etc. It gives free excess to the satellite data regarding the different geographical information about India.
It has been seen despite of been so informative and been loaded with valuable information there is legibility problem in Bhuvan’s interface which is visually not that appealing and interactive. So pinpointing the related areas and solving the problem is needed. The legibility is based on hierarchy of the information and searching right kind of information in good visual format will be suggested in this thesis.
This paper will explore the areas with the possible solutions. These problem areas which has been decussated in this thesis are based on visual communication tools such as site layout templet and design guidelines for selection of fonts, colours, marquee (animation). These Visual communication tools, in context to the key topics on homepage. It has possibility be redesigned on the basis of the conclusion given in this thesis.
This paper is aimed to give a design solution for the following:
1. To find the problem areas on the visual and interactive elements.
2. To design the Interface based on the user experience (UX).
3. To find the future scope in the UX of Bhuvan
4. Designing the interface for Bhuvan‘s mobile application.
