Cristina Miranda de Almeida holds a PhD in Art (UPV/EHU, 2005) and a Degree in Fine Arts (UPV/EHU) and in Architecture (USU, Rio de Janeiro). She has a Master's Degree in Industrial Design (DZ-BAI, Bilbao), a Specialization in Urban and Territorial Planning (Fundicot/University of Valencia) and in Urbanism (IBAM-Rio de Janeiro). She teaches in the Faculty of Fine Arts, and in the Master in Contemporary Art, UPV/EHU. Furthermore, she is a member of the Ikersoinu research group and was a member of the Contemporary Art Training and Research Units [UFI11/38; 2016-2012]. Likewise, she has participated in research projects, including [MINECO CSO2016-78107-R] Sharing Society; [EHU 16/35] Transversality of space; [BEAZ 2008/Universal Margin] Wiredbook & Electronic Margin; [EHU07/33] Connectivity options in art and [ESP-2016-196; ESP-2016-205] Framework Agreement DSS2016-UPV/EHU. Furthermore, she has completed postdoctoral research stays at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (2009-2015, Barcelona), at the Planetary Collegium, University of Plymouth (2006/7) and at the École Nationale Supérieure de Beaux-Arts, Paris (2010) and a pre-doctoral stay at the Accademia di Belle Arti, Florence. She researches on the impact of the Internet on art and the perceptual regime, and on collaborative and interdisciplinary art. Her publications include The Tree of Art (2006) and The Point of Being (2014, coed. Derrick de Kerckhove), among others.
