Erica Tandori is a legally blind artist, researcher, and  creative academic, graduating with a PhD from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2016. Her PhD focused on the interaction between art, ophthalmology and the entoptic effects of macular dystrophy.
With lived experience of blindness, Erica works with the Monash Inclusive Technology lab helping develop an Inclusive Gallery Framework for Low Vision and Blind audiences in Australian galleries and museums. 
The research explores new ways to heighten accessibility to visual and cultural heritage for diverse needs people.
Erica is also Artist in Residence at the Biomedicine Discovery Institute, Monash University, developing multi-sensory exhibitions communicating science to blind and low vision audiences. Establishing the Monash Sensory Science Initiative with ARC Laureate Professor Jamie Rossjohn in 2018, she has garnered recognition for disability access to science with national and global awards, including the Eureka Prize and Berlin Falling Walls Breakthroughs in Science.
