Graziele Lautenschlaeger (Rio Claro/SP, 1983)
Brazilian media artist, curator and researcher in media history and theory. She holds a PhD from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin/Institut für Kulturwissenschaft (2014-2019) with thesis titled "Sensing and Making Sense: Photosensitivity and light-to-sound translations in Media Art", recently published by transcript Verlag. She is interested in practices on the intersections between art and science, exploring the poetic and symbolic layers of technological artifacts, grounded mainly on theoretical references such as cybernetics, relational aesthetics, media archaeology and new materialism.
She graduated in Image and Sound from the Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil (2002-2005). Her Master’s degree was conducted in the Architecture and Urbanism Department of the University of São Paulo, when she collaborated to Nomads.usp – Centre for Interactive Living Studies (2007-2010). In 2008 she was Master exchange student in the Interface Cultures Department at Kunstuniversität Linz, Austria, under the supervision of Christa Sommerer and Laurent Mignonneau. In 2010 she conducted lectures on Experimental Project and Interactive Installations disciplines at Uniara (Centro Universitário de Araraquara). She also worked as visiting researcher at Lagear (Graphics Laboratory for Architecture Experience), at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2010-2011). She was resident artist in the LabMIS program at MIS – Museu da Imagem e Som in São Paulo (2011) and at Salzamt Atelierhaus in Linz (2012). Between 2011 and 2013 she worked as cultural agent at SESC SP (The Social Service of Commerce in São Paulo), curating and producing programs in media art, digital culture and dance.
