As a transdisciplinary theorist and practitioner, Dr Michael Straeubig creates, teaches and writes in fields such as artificial intelligence, virtual and mixed reality, creative coding, human-machine interaction, theatre, play and games design and on both natural and hostile environments. His thinking is informed by systems theory, cybernetics and posthuman positions. He received a Master's degree in computer science (Diplom-Informatiker) from the University Erlangen-Nuremberg and a PhD on the topic of designing playful systems from the School of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Plymouth as a Marie Curie Fellow.
