Joel Slayton is a pioneering artist, educator, and curator. His professional activities explore contemporary culture as informed by emerging technologies. Slayton’s artwork has been featured in exhibitions around the world including Berlin, Linz, Buenos Aires, Auckland, and New York. He is Professor Emeritus at SJSU where he founded the CADRE Laboratory in 1984.  He is  Co-Director of the L&J Ranch, a art and research focused orinitiative focused on land-use. Jel was the 2018 Sterling Visiting Scholar in the Department of Chemical and Systems Biology at Stanford University.  Joel Slayton served as Executive Director of ZERO1, overseeing three Silicon Valley based Biennials. Joel servers on the Board of  LEONARDO/IASAST.
