Rebecca Dalvesco (Independent Scholar) obtained her PhD from
Arizona State University in architectural history, theory and criticism.
Her MS is in industrial design theory, criticism and methodology. She
was art history chair and design historian at The University of
Wisconsin--Stout. Rebecca Dalvesco later became assistant professor at
The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Department of Architecture,
Interior Architecture and Designed Objects and was also a faculty
affiliate of the school’s Art History Department. She helped develop the
transdisciplinary curriculum for the then-fledgling Architecture, Interior
Architecture and Designed Objects Master’s Program at The School of
the Art Institute of Chicago. She has written for such journals as Design
Issues, The American Journal of Semiotics, Semiotica, and Leonardo.
Her topics include film, outer space design, art, designed objects and
