Mario Ramiro, Altamira, installation-performance created for a connection via telephone and Slow Scan TV between São Paulo and Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1986. Behind a large projection screen, dancer Laly Krotoszynski performed, illuminated by spots and flashes, to the sound of electronic percussion. Her movements were reminiscent of a ritual dance around a fire. The images were captured with a video camera and transmitted live to Cambridge via Slow Scan TV.
