Social Fabrics: Wearable + Media + Interconnectivity

Ear Buddies reverse the private space of personal audio headphones. Headphones limit our ability to interact with others and can render questions, conversations, and even cries for help inaudible. The ubiquity of headphones in our digitally mediated society reduces our sense of interpersonal connection. But Ear Buddies allow wearers to share audio with others through a modified group headphone set. The headphones create closeness and physically link the listeners to each other. Traveling en masse, the group must navigate together and act as a single unit rather than a collection of individuals.
