Sunkita Howard

Sunkita Howard completed her PhD thesis at University of Otago on “applying a multidisciplinary framework for developing a shark bycatch reduction device” in 2017. She currently works with New Zealand fishing companies, developing and implementing fishing gear that either reduces bycatch or mitigates the environmental impacts of fishing. Imagining the experiences of a fish remains a core part of her research process.
