LASER (Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous) is Leonardo/ISAST's international program of evening gatherings that brings artists and scientists together for informal presentations and conversations.

DESCRIPTION

D.C. Art Science Evening Rendezvous (DASER) is a monthly discussion forum on art science projects providing a snapshot of the cultural environment of the region fostering interdisciplinary networking. October's theme is Ecological Art.

Webcast and ASL interpretation provided.

Please arrive by 5:45 p.m. Latecomers will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets do not guarantee entry.


PROGRAM


5:30 to 6:00 p.m. Check in, East Court

6:00 to 6:15 p.m. Welcoming remarks and community sharing time. Anyone in the audience working at the intersection of art and science will have 30 seconds to share their work. Please present work as a teaser so that those who are interested can seek you out during social time following the event.

6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Panelists presentations (12-15 minutes each)

7:15 to 8:00 p.m. Discussion

8:00 to 9:00 p.m. Reception in the Great Hall and galleries. Steve Miller will sign copies of his new book, Radiographic(Glitterari, 2017). Visitors will have an opportunity to see the exhibitions Steve Miller: Health of the Planet and Diane Tuft: The Arctic Melt.
