Ana Peraica (Split, Croatia) graduated in philosophy and art history from the University of Zagreb and finished with laureate her post-academic research of art theory and new media at Jan Van Eyck Akademie, Maastricht.

Raised as the third generation of family of photographers she has started working with "technical images," becoming a curator of photography, film / video and new media. She has been in program boards of Histories of the New, ISEA 2004 (Stockholm, Helsinki, and Tallinn), Split Film Festival 1998 and jury board of Split Film Festival 2007 (Split). She is currently curating an online project Victims' Symptom ö PTSD and Culture (Lab for Culture, 2008) addressing exploitation and production of victims in political, cultural and media sense.

Her essays in domains of visual studies, media theory and political analysis analyzing contemporary cultural products are/were published in magazines as Springerin (Vienna), Issues in Contemporary Arts and Culture (Maastricht), Pavilion (Bucharest), etc. She has contributed two chapters to East Art Map (eds. Irwin, Afterall Publishing / MIT Press, London, 2005), Worlds of Feminism, Queer and Networking Conditions (eds. Grzinic and Reitshamer, Loecker Verlaag, Vienna, 2007).

She is an editor of the reader "Zena na raskrizju ideologija" (Split, HULU / Governmental Office for the Equality of Rights Split, 2007) after the project Woman at the Crossroad of Ideologies (alternate title). A selection of her essays entitled Sub/verzije is in print with Croatian publisher Ékolska Knjiga (Zagreb).

She teaches Visual Culture, Media Arts and Propaganda Systems in Arts at Cultural Studies, Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Rijeka.
