Founded in 1886, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design is accredited

the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. MCAD is a member of the College Art Association, The National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, The Middle America Art Conference, The Minnesota Campus Compact, the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design, the Minnesota Private College Council and other personnel oriented educational and professional organizations. About MCAD:The Minneapolis College of Art and Design is an independent institution offering a professionally oriented education for artists and designers.Beginning with a training in foundation studies, the four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program integrates liberal arts with studio-based courses in fine arts, media arts and design.
