Andreas Giannakoulopoulos, Ph.D., is a Web developer and researcher affiliated to the New Technologies Laboratory of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies of the University of Athens. In parallel, he is the webmaster of the Ionian University and a member of the Utopia.gr creative team, which undertakes research and development projects in the field of Communication and New Technologies. His research interests include information architecture, Web usability and accessibility, interface design, and the Web standards along their related technologies. In more theoreticla level he is interested in new media effects, interaction in virtual communities, and the social impact of online communication
Born (1963) and raised in Athens (Greece), Andreas and his wife, lawyer Sofia Papandreou, spend most of their time in Athens and the beautiful city of Nafplio in Peloponnese. He holds degrees in Economics and Communication from the University of Athens and a M.Sc. in Logic from the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation of the University of Amsterdam. His doctoral dissertation, approved by the University of Athens, was in the field of Computer Mediated Communication and especially the Web development technologies. He has also professional working experience in various music related mass-media, including magazines, radio and television. He has also extensive working experience in the field of advertising.
