Philippe-Aubert Gauthier is currently finishing a Ph.D. in mechanical
engineering. He is now working on sound field reproduction for audio
applications. Other recent research covers active control of
vibration. He also operates as an artist in various and mixed
domains: visual art, installation, writing and audio art. Most
important art pieces are: Free Jazz and Au-delý des
apparances (recent collaboration with "DR TANR", subsidized by
the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du QuČbec, also planned for the
compilation CD Cache 2006), various musical and noise productions,
and writings.
His major interests are dedicated to: acoustics, electroacoustics,
vibrations, acoustics history and sound representation,
psychoacoustics, sound localization, digital audio signal processing,
synthesis history and techniques, visual art and installation.
