Paul Fishwick is Professor of Computer and Information Science &
Engineering at the
University of Florida. His primary areas of interest are computer
simulation, modeling,
software visualization, and aesthetic computing. The work in
modeling begins with the
crafting of a model as a metaphor for the physical or artificial
system under study. Models
range from artifacts created to capture the dynamics of real-world
phenomena to
models designed to organize and architect software. Aesthetic
computing focuses on the
expanded role of aesthetics, informed by both the arts and sciences,
in the field of
computer science.
